Space Based Augmentation System (SBAS) – A system that corrects GNSS navigation signals for regional
atmospheric variations in order to further refine an aircraft’s navigation accuracy, both laterally and vertically.
Examples of SBAS systems include the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) in North America as well as the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS).
